If your goal is to start a church, keep in mind
that you don't need an extensive
church planting organization to accomplish
that. Rather than be concerned with that, focus
instead on how you will bring Christ to your
community. Let someone else worry about the business
and legal tasks
involved in bringing it all to fruition. Have
you asked yourself where you should start and
how you should do it? Remember, first and
foremost, you must have been called by God to
start, or help start, a Christian ministry. If
you can take care of that most important
question, then you should know that highly
competent guidance is available for everything
else. You may have wondered if incorporation a
requirement. Or, how to ordain ministers,
and whether they will qualify for the special
tax benefits available only to clergy? There is so much to
know that you could easily be distracted from
your true purpose without helpful guidelines
from quality resources like
Building On Faith.
If you had a
church planting organization, what would it
look like? What would be it's primary goals?
Keep in mind that for the ministry and outreach
side of a new church, you have a wealth of
resources, starting with the holy bible. You
also have many great Christian leaders who have
blazed trails for younger leaders. But one thing
many would-be church planters don't have is a
reliable resource that walks them thoroughly
through all legal and business tasks of how to
start a church.
The sooner you turn search for an find the kind
of resources you need for legal and business
matters associated with starting a new church,
the better off your new ministry will be. Learn
to concentrate on bringing God's Word to the
masses and leave the legal and business things
to someone who knows what they're doing. It
comes down to having an effective church planting strategy.
Or, concentrating on the religious message that you
feel God has appointed you to spread.
You need not worry about having a permanent
building in which to worship, as the kingdom
of God is in the heart. True Christians can
meet and share their love of the Bible with
each other in a way that no one else can,
with no need for a dedicated building. A
spiritual location suits just fine.
Remember, a
church planting organization is not
necessary. Just a true calling, a heart for God
and a heart for the ministry. Everything else
can be done with
Building On Faith, a wonderful new
resource on the legal and business aspects of
church plantings.
