At first blush, it may appear that you've
chanced upon an article on how to handle some of
the complex legal and business tasks on
how to start a church or ministry. While I
do intend to give you access to a wonderful set
of resources that will help with all such
matters, we both know that's not where you
should start.
Have you heard otherwise good people, even
well-meaning Christians, refer to a distaste for
"organized religion?" It isn't always clear if
they're suggesting a preference for disorganized
religion, or no religion at all. No matter...
because what they really mean is that religion
for the sake of religion is largely empty; an
exercise in futility, if you will. I couldn't
agree more.
Have you also kept an eye and ear open to the
grumblings of the world on matters as
fundamental as how we originated? On that count,
we have the antiquated science nerds who,
despite the implausibility of the theory of
evolution, forcefully advocate for teaching it
in schools as though it were truth. But truth
must have proof... and there is none for their
concept of "natural selection."
Let us now come in for a landing... there are
forces at work today, the origins of which are
deep in the human soul and psyche. They cry out
for truth and redemption. And you have been
Called by God to bring it to them. Not as mere
religion, but as the truth of a savior who
suffered, died and was raised again. Amen!
Moreover, there are lies in the world today.
They permeate because a community of science has
not the courage to contemplate the metaphysical
implications of the weaknesses in their beloved,
if irrelevant, theories on where we come from.
You have been Called to bring truth to the
masses, and freedom for the captives. Not as an
aggressive nut-job, but as a loving, intelligent
advocate of the evidence before us.
So, if you truly want to
know how to start a church or ministry, you
should consider starting there. Consider your
reasons. Consider your purpose. Consider if your
Calling is true and powerful. And do not do
it... I repeat... please don't do it... if it is
not of God. It will only end in grief and
failure. You would only become another statistic
in the scorned "organized religion" category.
You would have almost nothing to say that could
illuminate the innocent. That is no way to start
a church. That how you'd end it before it
starts.
Now as promised, for the legal and business (and
even some of the most important ecclesiastical)
tasks of starting a church, take a close look at
